Elite™ EPDM

A seamless, high-performance safety surface created by combining premium Elite™ EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber granules with a specialised polyurethane binder. The mixture is poured in place over a prepared sub-base and professionally troweled to form a smooth, continuous, impact-absorbing finish. We install a wear layer a minimum of 15 mm deep — we don’t take shortcuts.

Unlike hard surfaces such as concrete, asphalt or modular tiles, Elite™ EPDM wet-pour rubber delivers superior cushioning and flexibility. It will not crack or split while significantly reducing the risk of injury from slips, trips and falls while providing a durable, low-maintenance surface that meets Australian safety standards.

Combined with a naturally anti-slip texture, the surface maintains reliable traction even when wet.

Elite™ EPDM granules are coloured right through the material, so the surface keeps a clean, even appearance even as it wears.

Key Requirements for Wet-Pour Soft Fall Rubber

  • The installed wet-pour system must be tested and certified to protect against the Critical Fall Height of the playground equipment.

    Typical certified systems include:

    • 1.0 m

    • 1.2 m

    • 1.5 m

    • 1.8 m

    • 2.0 m

    • 2.5 m

    • 3.0 m+

      The required rubber thickness depends on the equipment's maximum free height of fall and the manufacturer's test certificate.

  • Wet-pour surfacing must:

    • Pass Head Injury Criterion (HIC) testing

    • Meet maximum g-force requirements

    • Be laboratory tested and certified in accordance with AS 4422

    • Be tested after installation where specified.

  • Wet-pour rubber is widely used because it provides:

    • Wheelchair accessibility

    • Firm, stable and slip-resistant surfaces

    • Continuous surfacing without loose material
