Key Requirements for Wet-Pour Soft Fall Rubber
-
The installed wet-pour system must be tested and certified to protect against the Critical Fall Height of the playground equipment.
Typical certified systems include:
1.0 m
1.2 m
1.5 m
1.8 m
2.0 m
2.5 m
3.0 m+
The required rubber thickness depends on the equipment's maximum free height of fall and the manufacturer's test certificate.
-
Wet-pour surfacing must:
Pass Head Injury Criterion (HIC) testing
Meet maximum g-force requirements
Be laboratory tested and certified in accordance with AS 4422
Be tested after installation where specified.
-
Wet-pour rubber is widely used because it provides:
Wheelchair accessibility
Firm, stable and slip-resistant surfaces
Continuous surfacing without loose material
Compliance with accessibility objectives when correctly designed and installed.
